In the early 2000s, Sicilian politician Catello (Toni Servillo), who had been convicted of involvement with the Mafia, is released from prison. The secret service sets him free on the condition that he helps them track down the fugitive Mafia boss Matteo (Elio Germano). Catello begins a correspondence with the mafioso, and their friendship soon takes unexpected turns. Inspired by a true case, this Mafia film captivates with its subtle humour and passionate character actors.
